The Younger Me
Sometimes we grow up and think the child we once were has disappeared
But she hasn't
She is still somewhere in the quiet corners of you,
The little girl who laughed without thinking how she looked,
Who ran toward the water without worrying about tomorrow,
Who believed that the world was wide and kind and waiting.
She is the one who dreamed before fear learned your name.
The one who thought your heart was brave enough for anything.
Life may have made you quieter.
It may have placed heavy things in your hands,
Responsibilities, disappointments,
The slow ache of becoming older than your dreams.
But she is still there.
In the way your eyes soften when you see the ocean.
In the small hope that refuses to die inside your chest.
In the moments when you almost remember what it felt like to be free.
She still watching you.
Not with judgement,
But with the same trust,
She always had.
So when the road feels too long,
When the world tells you to give up a little more of yourself,
Remember her face,
The one who believed you would grow into someone who never stopped trying.
Do not break the promise she made without words.
Keep going.
Keep dreaming.
Keep choosing the life she imagined for you.
Beacuse somewhere inside you,
That little girl is still smilling,
Waiting to see what you will become.
